An American Bolex Company ad for the Bolex L-8 camera. The price was listed at $87.50, without lens. The text below it reads:
"It is necessary that purchasers of this camera furnish us with standard 8mm lenses that can be adapted at nominal cost. Write for further information."
Although limited numbers of L-8 cameras were imported to the United States near the end of the war, it appears that the Kern Yvar "L-8 mount" lens was not. Normal D-mount lenses could be modified to reduce the optical distance from film plane to lens seat; from the normal d-mount distance of 12.29mm, to 7.8mm required for the L-8.
