  • Charles Houston writes an interesting article in this issue, discussing a 1953 expedition to the K2 peak of the Himalayas; an expedition that met with tragedy before the party could reach the summit. Houston discusses using his Bolex DeLuxe at altitudes up to 25,000 feet, and how it performed flawlessly even in freezing temperatures. His color footage was used in a documentary that aired on NBC on January 31, 1954. This issue also introduces the new H-16 Supreme.
