9.5mm/16mm Projector

- CONSTRUCTION: Grey enamel finish
- REEL CAPACITY: Reel arms accommodate 400 ft reels.
- THREADING: Manual threading and loop forming of film. Interchangeable parts allow for the projection of either 9.5mm or 16mm film.
- POWER: Runs on 110v AC or DC power supply.
- LAMP: 250w or 400w lamp; Side located lamp housing reflects light at a 90 degree angle and through the lens.
- LENS: Interchangeable lenses
- SPEED: 16 frames per second; Reverse projection; Rapid motor rewind; Notch title projection (on later models)
- OTHER FEATURES: Direct draft ventilation and cooling of lamp; Adjustable base with tilting screws for proper alignment of projected image;
Notes and Comments
The Model D was a dual guage projector with interchangeable sprockets, reel spindles and gate. First produced in 1931, it saw several modifications over the next few years.
Model D

The original Model D projector used a 250 watt lamp.
Model DA
1933 -- 9.5mm/16mm Dual-film Format
The Model DA was designed with the addition of a notch title stop device for
9.5mm film. It also used a 250 watt projection lamp.
Model DA-37
1937 -- 9.5mm/16mm Dual-film Format
Possibly referred to as a DA II, it was an improved version of the DA projector,
with better cooling & a 400 watt lamp. To accommodate a larger shutter
blade, the shape of the chassis was modified slightly with a taller, more
circular top. (pictured at right)
The Bolex Model D was only slightly more expensive than the Model C. Several advertisements in American publications in the early 1930s list the price as $109.
